I'm Sharn
Time flies by so quickly, yet some days seem to drag on endlessly - as a mom to 3 little ones myself, I'm right there in the thick of it with you. Some days, you find yourself eagerly anticipating the next stage of independence for your little ones. But then there are those moments when you wish you could hit pause, just to keep them small a little bit longer. The days and nights can feel never-ending, yet when you look at your children, you can't help but wonder where all the time has gone. You yearn for those precious moments when they were tiny enough to curl up on your chest, or when their little hand wrapped around yours, making you feel like the center of their universe.
That's why I'm here - to help you capture those passing memories, to freeze time even for just a moment. My photo sessions are designed to be relaxed, allowing you quality time with your family without distractions. Just be present, take a deep breath, soak it all in, and let me be the one to document these cherished moments for you to revisit in the years to come.
My aim is to create an environment where you can connect with your little ones, whether it's through playfulness or simply holding them close while they're still small enough to fit in your arms. It's about embracing the moment and creating lasting memories for the future.
I knew from the start that motherhood photography would be my focus because it's where I feel the strongest connection. There's something truly special about connecting with other moms and celebrating the beauty of motherhood together.
I chose the name Samaa for my photography business because it embodies who I am and what I aim to achieve through my work.
With 'Samaa', a name that incorporates the initials 'S,' 'A,' and 'M' of my husband, children and myself, these initials symbolize the foundation of my life, reminding me of the love and significance of family, which is the most important aspect of my life.
As a Punjabi Sikh woman raised in Vernon, B.C., with parents originally from India, my cultural heritage is a significant part of my identity. By choosing a Punjabi name, 'Samaa,' I pay homage to my roots and honor my heritage.
The word 'Samaa' means 'time.' This reflects the core of photography: capturing moments and preserving them forever. Each photo holds a precious memory, frozen in time by my lens.
In short, 'Samaa' isn't just a name; it represents my family, culture, and the deep meaning behind my photography—capturing beautiful moments for a lifetime.
My promise to you
Stepping into my studio should feel like a breath of calm. Take a seat on the comfortable couch, where you can kick back, have some coffee or water, and catch up on your favorite shows. For little ones joining the session, there are plenty of toys to keep them entertained and happy while we work our magic capturing beautiful moments.
In my studio, I've curated a collection of beautiful dresses for mums, designed to make them feel both comfortable and confident during the session. Additionally, I've purchased a variety of adorable outfits for babies, so you don't have to worry about a thing! I also have a limited number of outfits for dads and siblings.
